7 Benefits of Using LinkedIn Audio to Enhance Your Brand Visibility

Updated: Mar 13

What is the easiest and most convenient way to interact with people online without having to spend a dime?

While you’re thinking of your answer, I would say audio events are the way to go and in this newsletter, we’ll be discussing why you should consider audio events to improve your brand visibility.

LinkedIn Audio Events are real-time, audio-only conversations designed to help you build relationships, foster connections, and learn new things. They are a flexible and informal way to participate in virtual events while allowing you to multitask. For many listeners, this is like listening to a podcast, but one that they can participate in.

How do they work

To get access to create and host events, you or your company should have more than 150 followers. (As an individual, you also have to turn on your creator mode to enjoy more features).

To create an Audio Event:

1. Click the Home icon at the top of the page.

2. From the panel on the left side, click the Add icon next to Events.

3. Under Event format, select Audio Event.

4. Add the event's name and details such as date, time, and description. An Audio Event can be held for a maximum of three hours. You don't need to enable captions.

5. Click Post: Creating an event will automatically share a one-time post that will appear in your followers’ feeds just like any other post to help build awareness for your event. Once the event is created, you can't change some of the details later.

What are the Benefits?

1. Audience Connection: Audio content allows for a more personal and direct connection with your audience, making your brand more relatable and memorable. It also leads to word-of-mouth recommendations and organic growth in your brand's visibility.

2. Global Reach: LinkedIn audio content can be found by a diverse global audience, potentially expanding your brand's reach beyond your local or regional market.

3. Multitasking Accessibility: LinkedIn audio can be consumed while your audience is multitasking, such as commuting or exercising, increasing its visibility.

4. Expertise Showcase: Sharing your insights and expertise through LinkedIn audio can position you as an industry expert, expanding your network and increasing your brand's visibility within your industry.

5. Demonstration of Communication Skills: Sharing well-crafted audio content demonstrates your communication skills and professionalism, positively impacting your brand's reputation and visibility.

6. Content Repurposing: You can repurpose your LinkedIn audio content into other formats, such as blog posts, videos, or podcast episodes, which can be shared across multiple platforms, further increasing your brand's visibility.

7. Highlighting Soft Skills: Through your tone and delivery in audio content, you can highlight soft skills like empathy, charisma, and active listening, reinforcing a positive brand image.

Embracing LinkedIn audio sets you apart from competitors who primarily use text-based posts, making your brand more memorable and unique in your industry.

How to Host a LinkedIn Audio Event:

1. Plan Your Content:

Outline the topics you want to cover during the event and have a clear objective or theme for the discussion.

2. Promote Your Event:

Announce the event in advance to attract attendees using engaging captions and visuals.

3. Audio Quality Matters:

Use headphones or a good-quality microphone to ensure clear audio and choose a quiet and well-lit space to minimize background noise.

4. Engage Your Audience:

Encourage questions and interaction from attendees, mention and thank participants by name to make it more personal.

5. Be a Moderator:

Keep the conversation flowing smoothly, ensure everyone has a chance to speak, and prepare speaking points.

6. Time Management:

Set a schedule and stick to it to respect participants' time, allow time for introductions, discussion, and Q&A.

7. Manage Technical Issues: Have a backup plan in case of technical difficulties, familiarize yourself with the platform's features and settings.

8. Engage Beyond the Event:

Continue the conversation after the event through follow-up posts or discussions, connect with attendees, and express gratitude for their participation.

9. Learn and Improve:

Gather feedback from attendees to learn what went well and what could be improved, and use this feedback to refine your future LinkedIn audio events.
